Held captive in a castle surrounded by Hollows, Ferris is at the mercy of a Fae with nothing but hatred in his heart. Will she escape unscathed to fulfill her promises to The Great Elm, or will his sinful darkness consume her bit by bit?

The Great Elm placed a task upon my soul which only death or triumph can release me from.

I am more than I thought myself to be but less than fate seems to believe I might be.

Hendrix Bane has marked me for death as surely as I have marked him as my enemy. I am trapped in the castle of my adversary and all that passed between us before this moment has been cast aside like ashes from a fire that burned too hot and too fast to bask in.

My sister is lost to me once more and doubts gnaw at my insides. All the things I never wanted myself to believe have forced themselves to the forefront of my mind. Did I even achieve anything in those trees? Or will the world rejoice at my success only to curse my name for their downfall in the end?

I have an impossible task to fulfil and my accomplice in it has nothing but hatred for me in his heart. So now I’m at the mercy of the man who helped me survive the curse of the forest. And his wrath is nothing short of sinful.

I only pray I don’t lose myself to the corruption which has taken hold of him. And I don’t know if I will escape him before I’m consumed by it too.

But maybe that’s what I’m hoping for.
