Outlander meets The Knight and the Moth.

This book was one of those reads where I went in thinking I knew what I was getting myself into… and then it completely took me somewhere else.

If you took the time-travel, historical feel of Outlander and mixed it with the strange, atmospheric, slightly eerie magic of The Knight and the Moth, you’d get something that feels a lot like The Washwoman at the River’s End.

And honestly? I was intrigued from the start.

There’s something about a story centred around a mysterious woman at the edge of a river that immediately had me thinking: okay, but what exactly is waiting for her at the river's end?

The world feels steeped in folklore and old magic, and I loved how the story gradually reveals more instead of throwing every answer at you immediately. There’s this constant feeling that there is something bigger happening beneath the surface, and I was very much along for the ride.

It’s atmospheric, mysterious and a little bit unsettling in the best way.

And if you’re anything like me and love books that make you feel like you’ve stumbled across an old fairytale that someone forgot to warn you about… you need this one on your TBR.
